20 Sassy Hatters met for lunch at Mama Mia's in Stone Mountain Village - a GREAT turnout!  Each place setting was adorned with a pair of cute red "bloomers" (made from 2 kitchen wash cloths) with candy inside and also a mini loaf of cherry/chocolate bread (yum!).  Thanks to our DOCs Belinda and Carolyn for a wonderful, relaxing event!

Wanda started us off with a joke about poisoned spaghetti - ha ha!  Dot showed off her "new girls", Cheryl bragged about her new puppy "Lucy", and Trudy thanked everybody for the sympathy cards for the recent death of her brother.

Even though we already voted to discontinue the website, several gals asked that we bring this back to the table in January.  Joan will give us a demo of the website on a laptop, we will discuss the pros/cons and vote again at that time.

The next person on our waiting list (to take Linda Moseley's place) is Diane Coffey, friend of Susan B.  As Linda P. has announced she will go inactive in January (boo hoo), that also opens up a place for Izzy Weaver, friend of Joanne.  We will discuss this in January and vote on whether to bring our membership back up to 25 or not.

Carolyn led Happy Birthday wishes to Donna, Fran and June - we wish you many more!

Susan B. distributed invitations for our Christmas Event and explained that some of the $22 cost is going towards purchasing a tree for the family in need.  Due to the logistics of transporting an already-decorated tree, we will NOT decorate the tree at our event but rather bring the ornaments (or gift cards) so the family can do it themselves.

As our salads were served, we played Name That Cake (i.e. a heavenly body = angel food).  Sheryl got the most answers and won the doorprize!  We also did the raffle drawing.  Then we all enjoyed our delicious Italian food as we laughed and talked and got caught up on each other's lives.

Keep looking for event ideas for 2010 - I will send an email in December listing everything we've done so far and new event ideas that I've found.  Several gals have already come up with events they want to host!
